Hi!

Thanks if you're still visiting this blog. :)

I have moved to a new home:

Please head on over but pardon the "mess".
I'm still organizing posts and figuring out some other widgets.

Cheers!

Lost, Found and In Between

Literally.

After years of corporate based work, I found myself at a crossroad and had to decide immediately: whether I was still fit to balance work and family or was I going to be more productive doing a consultancy business?

I took a leap of FAITH and a lot of guts and decided to give being a WAHM (sort of) a try and hopefully, as a permanent and successful state.

It's not easy and it's quite challenging. It's NEVER going to be a 9-5 job.

Here's the lowdown when it comes to the "mere concept" and the actual truth behind it:

CONCEPT: Doing consultancy work and having a flexible business gives you freedom to dictate your time

FACT: Half true if you have all the funds that you need to pay all the bills like you used to do (having to know that something specific will come in every payday). But since I literally jumped into my decision, Its not a vacation nor is it a whole time to linger around and do nothing. It's actually more work BUT it's work that I LOVE DOING. So no matter how tight client deadlines are or how gruelling some projects may be, its worth it.

Plus factor: I see my kids when I opt to work from home more often and If I play my cards right, I get to organize meetings, work load and business matters with my partners and set aside time for family.

So begins this new blog post.

It has been forever and I truly missed blogging.

Should be exciting!

Now all I need to do is do a revamp on my blog's look. :)

XOXO

Ooh and Gooh!

I've been out of commission as expected for several months.
But I'm getting back to my mission: getting all artsy, crafty, domestic and DIY.

For the longest time, due to busy work schedules and generally, lack of time, I find myself buying commercially made food for my kids and the house.

When I saw that my youngest was getting extra sensitive to the food he eats and with all the junk food they've consumed, it was really time to change things for good.

First, I got the oven I wanted for the longest time.
Second, I got back to baking.
Third, the house is looking better, though so much more things to organize. READ: Garage Sale

Aging Gracefully

With all the junk food I've consumed and the sleepless nights plus add the daily stress, I'm in dire need of a change.

A healthy change!

What I eat, sleeping habits and less stressful situations.

When you're stressed, your skin shows the first signs.

A lot of celebrities turn to plastic surgery, while others really just age gracefully.

It's so hard to tell who went under cosmetic procedures but it's also just amazing to see some of these women:

1. Christy Turlington, 44

I love her! She's not a bombshell or an ultra sexy girl but her beauty is really just easy on the eyes

Hellooooo!

It's been MONTHS!
I know, I have neglected my dear blog.
Seriously annoyed that life was so hectic.
It started last December and it never seemed to have mellowed down.

Well, still the same except that I'm choosing not to be overwhelmed anymore.

Life is too short to get stressed over stuff that's day to day.

I'm thinking of a new look though my HTML skills are a little rusty and I vowed to re-do the blog design on my own as a special project.

I can't wait to start working online again.

Fulfilled and Chillaxed

Spent day 1 and 2 of the long holiday weekend with my parents and family in Laguna.
Was fun to have long talks and laughs with my cousins and see all my nieces and nephews and my two little kids running around and playing.

Time indeed goes by fast. So fast that it was only yesterday that we were just kids ourselves playing with barbie dolls!

I'm 2nd from the right

Shoe Post: Flat, weird and unique :)

Apologies for the topic.
I can't sleep.
It's been a tough week, coming from my son's confinement at the hospital.
Though work was exciting, the sleepless nights and panic at the hospital still caught up with me.
I guess that comes with being a mom and a workaholic.

But anyhoo, I've been into unique shoe pieces again lately, which are local brands and at awesome prices. The only thing I can't pull off are heeless pumps, I just can't balance and for sure will trip over. :( But I'm quite happy with these flats. I'm looking for court shoes (comfortable ones hopefully) if there are. :)))

Both from The Ramp:

PILL: Transparent Flat with Metal gold cap and faux reptile skin

TONIC: Transparent flat with cap toe glittery material

JHAJING ONLINE: Orange and Nude Spiked Flats

photo grabbed from: https://www.facebook.com/JhajingFashion

All three are super comfy. Perfect for busy days in the office or weekends where you need to run errands. :)

Sleep has finally greeted me.

Good night!

Cheers!

Can't Wait...

I can't wait for my favorite US shows to start their new season!!!

My tv salad list (not in any particular order):

1. Gossip Girl
2. The Vampire Diaries
3. Suits (just ended, next season's so long pa!)
4. Grimm (now on, but I want to wait for 2-3 episodes to watch in a row)
5. Greys Anatomy
6. Revenge
7. True Blood
8. Once Upon a Time
9. Game of Thrones

This is me trying to get some sleep but still online surfing.
Also, the kids are pretty much still hyper and awake.

In the meantime, meet the cutest lawyer (on tv), Harvey Spencer ♥♥♥

Quick Fix: Pimples

When you're so stressed they pop out of nowhere in the most visible areas.

I will not show a very graphic (and horrible) picture of my zit...plus, it's almost gone...in just a day!!!

I don't market the products that I don't use and don't believe in.
I test stuff before I recommend too. It comes with being curious and being a mom...both have to be present if you want to know what works, what's more practical, affordable or higher in quality.

I have 2 pimple answers, unfortunately, the first one, unfortunately is no longer available locally:

Himalaya Acne-n-Pimple cream
Used to be 349 here but I had to ask my Tita in SG to get for me

Luckily, I got introduced to this:

Lined Eyes, Red Lips

When you get to organize (sort of) your vanity stuff, you can't resist doing a "test run" hehe.

Had the time yesterday to get my things organized (pat on the back..hehe).

"Organized" Vanity (I'm still getting there...hehe)

And was able to experiment on 2 looks.
Here's one of them.

Vision Board: Shoes

Rummaged through my closet and decided to part with a lot of my shoes.
Some, I have worn just a couple of times and haven't worn in around 6-8 months so I decided to let them go for a much better cause.

I didn't give out heels because who would want to start anew after getting flooded in heels?

So I gave away boots and flats plus a lot of my kids' shoes, which most parents will agree, are rarely worn between the ages of 1 to 6. A lot of the shoes were only worn once as well! (Sayang and some pairs were even new so share the blessing).

I'm still planning to rummage through my closet and see what else I can give, not a reason to buy new ones but to make sense that, I really don't need so much.

I can always just admire nice pictures. :)

With that, I'll just have to dream of these babies as I know they're pretty but I can't really survive wearing them! haha

Flood Safety Tips from ANC

Flood Water is Dangerous

COMPILED UPDATES: RED ALERT

from @MMDA and DZMM.com.ph

STAY SAFE!

CALAMITY STRIKES: WHAT TO DO

Panic and Blame - Major causes of self-destruction

Instead of being a burden to yourself and others, keep a steady heart and a calm mind and think of ways to make use of your time especially if you are not the one in trouble, either volunteer or just help in any way you can.

IF YOU ARE IN A SAFE PLACE, SECURE THE FOLLOWING:

Keep them close-by and ready in case of emergency:

1. Candles and Matches
2. Blankets and Jackets
3. Flashlights, Emergency Lights
4. Fully charged mobile phone/s
5. Emergency bag - clothes, easy-to-eat food, other essentials (avoid overpacking, the emergency bag won't serve the purpose if you're bringing your whole house!)
6. Medicines including rubbing alcohol for infections

Rescue teams from the Red Cross are asking for people to place a white or anything close to it on their roofs or areas that are visible for rescuers to be able to reach them.

STILL HAVE NET ACCESS?

Twitter: Use #RescuePH to report or if in need of rescue
PROJECT NOAH: http://noah.dost.gov.ph

STAY INDOORS!
Unless you are an experienced and able volunteer, do not attempt to go out and place yourself in harm's way.

RELIEF OPERATIONS:
While waiting, you can spend time and check your personal belongings for things you may be able to give out.

Last 2009, we volunteered for the Red Cross, it took us so much time to weed through the usable donations.

MAKE YOUR DONATIONS COUNT!

- Donate easy-to-eat food, they have minimal resources to cook and prepare (biscuits, bread, easy to open canned goods with ready to eat content, etc.)

- WATER - purified or distilled drinking water they can drink

- Donate clothing that can be used (don't donate gowns, costumes, or ragged clothes)

- You can also donate shoes/footwear/slippers (don't donate high heels or fancy footwear they can't use immediately)

- Blankets, sleeping bags, comforters - can be of great help in evacuation centres

- Basic toiletries - Soap, Shampoo, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Diapers and Sanitary Pads

- You may be eager to help, check first if the drop-off centre nearest your area is a safe way to and from home, if not, WAIT, it takes time but your donations are better usable than soiled

Hope this post helps.

Praying that the rain stops and that victims of this calamity will be able to rise up easily, with our help, for sure they can.

So Far So Good Apple

It's been ages since my last post! I have busier than ever....

But anyway, I'm stepping into a lot of new things in my life.
With God's grace and my family's support, I'm off to a new start.

Speaking of new, I'll be doing some changes to the blog.
Most of it will be sectioned into interest areas, something I'm excited on doing so crossing my fingers I will be able to get it through the next months hehe.

To start off, I upgraded to Mountain Lion OS X and after 2 painstaking days of downloading (Both my globe DSL and Wireless Myfi device were below 1Mbps speed!), I was finally able to upgrade.
